About Me

Buenas yan håfa adai!

Hello and welcome to my humble corner of the Internet! My name is Shai and I started this blog to help myself engage more deeply in my reading experiences. Since starting this blog I have come to appreciate reading and writing as vehicles of decolonization, liberation, and transformation. Moving forward, I am dedicating this space for processing and developing my own post-colonial consciousness as it relates to my identity as an indigenous Chamoru woman living in the continental United States.

Here you will find book reviews, personal reflections, resources that I collect for my own reference, and documentation of my journey to learn my native language! I read pretty much anything, but I will be more intentional about highlighting marginalized voices and experiences, particularly in the areas of ethnicity, indigenous heritage, religion/spirituality, and indigenous Pacific Islanders. I’d love it if you’d join me on this journey!
